The Sigma 3-30KS refrigerated high-speed centrifuge is designed for laboratories that need more speed and force than a standard benchtop centrifuge can provide, without moving into full ultracentrifuge territory. Manufactured by Sigma Laborzentrifugen, a German manufacturer with more than 50 years of centrifugation expertise, the Sigma 3-30KS combines high-speed performance with a compact benchtop footprint. This makes it well suited to molecular biology, cell biology, diagnostics, genetics and nanotechnology applications.

1. Exceptional Speed and Centrifugal Force
The Sigma 3-30KS can reach a maximum relative centrifugal force of up to 70,121 x g with the appropriate rotor. This enables fast separations and helps bridge the performance gap between standard benchtop centrifuges and ultracentrifuges.
2. Precise Refrigeration and Temperature Control
A powerful, precise refrigeration system maintains temperatures from -20°C to +40°C, and centrifuging below 0°C is possible depending on rotor and speed. The Rapid Temp function allows rotors to be pre-cooled efficiently, which is essential for protecting heat-sensitive and biologically active samples during high-speed runs.
3. Broad Rotor and Accessory Compatibility
With 20 available rotors and a wide range of accessories, the Sigma 3-30KS can spin tube sizes from 0.2 ml up to 94 ml in fixed-angle rotors, or up to 100 ml in swing-out rotors. The centrifuge also accommodates 96-well and deep-well plates, giving labs flexibility across sample types and volumes.
4. Intuitive, Safe Operation
The centrifuge features the Spincontrol S controller, which includes patented one-button control. Other features include a motorised lid lock, timing after target speed is reached, capacity for 60 programs, password protection to prevent unintentional alteration of operating parameters, and a rotor cycle counter. Together, these features make the Spincontrol S controller a highly versatile system.
5. Quiet, Comfortable Operation
Despite running at speeds up to 30,000 rpm, the Sigma 3-30KS keeps noise below 57 dB(A), creating a more comfortable and quieter laboratory environment.
6. Optional Inert Gas Injection System
For labs working with flammable samples, an inert gas version with inert gas injection is available as an option, extending the centrifuge's versatility.
